Miley Cyrus is taking her post-Disney musical comeback very seriously.

E! News has exclusively learned that Miley has signed on with veteran music manager Larry Rudolph, the man widely credited with resuscitating Britney Spears' career.

The news comes a little over a month after Cyrus partnered with RCA Records to distribute her highly anticipated new album.

"Larry has the track record to handle an international pop star like Miley," says a source with knowledge of the management shift. (Miley was managed by Jason Morey throughout her Disney years.)

We're also hearing that the star's mom, Tish Cyrus, will remain her daughter's co-manager.

Miley's rep couldn't be reached for comment.

Sky Ferreira covers L'Officiel NL March 2013 issue.

    Wonderland Magazine Interview
LA lovely Sky Ferreira is in London to play a host of gigs so Wonderland talked to her about changing direction, crying at Fiona Apple concerts and being the face of Saint Laurent Paris. Plus, a Unicorn Kid remix of ‘Everything Is Embarrassing’.

Tell us about your change of direction since ‘One‘.
I got signed when I was 15, and I had a lot of people telling me what I should do, and I didn’t necessarily agree with it but I was like, “I guess I’ll try it”. After ‘One’, they were like, “Oh your song didn’t do well…” It got attention, but it didn’t sell anything, which was actually for the best, because I don’t think I really wanted to make that kind of music to begin with.

It was a great track though.
It was a great track – totally. I don’t regret it.

Tell us how you hooked up with Dev Hynes for ‘Everything Is Embarrassing‘.
I met Dev Hynes through mutual friends. We were always trying to work together. My publicist sent it to Pitchfork and they posted it and made it best new track, and it got traction from there.

Your album will be dropping later this year. You’re like a Cassie figure – the longer you’ve been away, the more the mystique and expectation have built.
Yeah, that’s why I have to make sure it’s good! Some people might be disappointed because it’s not ‘One’ or ‘Obsession’, but there are still a lot of pop elements in it. It’s a lot more guitar driven, there are acoustic songs and it’s very stripped down. A lazy, easy comparison would be Blondie.

Who have you been collaborating with on this one?
I worked with Jon Brion on half of it and then Ariel Rechtshaid on the other half. Ariel produced that Usher’s song ‘Climax’, which is completely different to what we’re doing, and then he did Vampire Weekend. Jon Brion did Elliott Smith and Fiona Apple.

I was going to say that some of your new work has a bit of an early Fiona Apple feel to it.
Yeah she’s a really big influence – always was. She was my number one idol as a kid. I’ve seen her play like 10 times, and I cried the second time. I cried at the front. It was so embarrassing!

    Discreet tears or full-on sobs?
I wasn’t sobbing. Definitely tears though!

A lot of your artwork and videos remind me of a young Vanessa Paradis.
Yeah, and Nastassja Kinski is a very big person for me. Vanessa Paradis as a teenager! She’s still glamorous. I love all that look of French girls, like Brigitte Bardot.

How did you get approached to be the face of Saint Laurent Paris?
Hedi Slimane and I met a few years ago, and always kept in touch. He took photos of me for his diary, then he did my artwork, and then asked me to do Saint Laurent. So yeah!

You’re touring North America with How To Dress Well. Great combo.
Yeah it’s going to be a cool tour I think. We have mutual friends, and we like each other’s music. We thought it’d be a fun tour.

What’s your go-to album at the moment?
Kendrick Lamar. That’s my favourite album of last year. I love his music, but I think it’s also the LA in me. I’m from Venice Beach. When I listen to him, I’m like “LA! Yay – repping the West Coast finally.”

Are you off to some Paris fashion shows whilst you’re here in Europe?
Yeah. I skipped New York fashion week this time, but I’m going to Givenchy and Saint Laurent next week. Riccardo Tisci was one of the first people – even during my whole break – who had me play his parties. He’s really supportive. And I’m playing a show at Silencio, David Lynch’s nightclub there.

Tell us what it’s like shooting with Mario Testino, Terry Richardson and Hedi Slimane.
They’re all quite different. Hedi’s thing is quite intimate, you know, and then Terry is just like my friend. We just hang out.

Is he still getting his dick out all the time?
I think he’s stopped that – too much commercial work! And Testino’s a bit more glamorous. That’s like shooting like a diva.

Sky Ferreira’s EP Everything is Embarrassing will be released 8th April on Polydor. She plays tonight at White Heat and tomorrow at XOYO, London. skyferreira.tumblr.com

Taylor Swift's shares her Nashville Favorites with Nashville Lifestyle Magazine

    NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

    via glooce

NL: If you had a day to be anonymous in Music City, what would you do and where would you go?
TS: I’d just probably do the same things I usually do. It would be so depressing to think I couldn’t go certain places because people know who I am now.
I love going to the shops in Franklin and walking around the adorable areas in East Nashville (my fiddle player Caitlin’s neighborhood) and walking to Starbucks in the morning. I love concerts at the Ryman, I like going to Target. These are all places where there are always lots of people around, but that’s just kind of where I like going. It’s not that big of a deal, really.

NL: How does it feel to have your own place in Midtown Nashville?
TS: I love living in Midtown. In 10 minutes, I can walk to Hillsboro Village through the Vanderbilt campus, past the old stone buildings and churches. I love being so close to Green Hills and the Gulch and Broadway. Everything is two minutes away.

NL: What’s your favorite thing about owning and having your own place?
TS: My favorite thing is getting to have my friends over and cook for them. Hanging out with friends at home always turns into some piano sing-along, so I have all kinds of percussion instruments and guitars lying around. Also, living in an apartment motivates you to get out and get things done during the day. Something about living up in the sky, being able to see the whole city going about its day, makes you want to get up early and go accomplish things.

NL: Your top choices for a great meal in the city and what you order?
TS: Fido in Hillsboro Village—I like it for its atmosphere and energy. Everybody’s always hanging out there, having lattes in mugs with cute little swirl designs on top. My friends and I like it because it’s open late. Capitol Grille in the Hermitage Hotel—I took my parents there for Mother’s Day this year, and it had this old school, back-in-time vibe to it. Sometimes I think every restaurant is trying to out-hip the others—this one is really classic, and my brother and I were geeking out about the history of the Hermitage Hotel. Tokyo in Green Hills—This place has a deck to sit outside and hibachi tables inside. The waiters and waitresses are so sweet and friendly.

NL: Do you have any favorite shops in or around Nashville? If so, any tips for great finds?
TS: I have so many favorite shops here. I love Gilchrist and Gilchrist, this family owned shop in Berry Hill. I bought a lot of cute decorations and furniture for my apartment there. For the girls who like shabby chic, go there. I really like the Hill Center area with Anthropologie and H.Audrey. Fire Finch and Pangaea in Hillsboro Village are so cute too. Fanny’s House of Music in East Nashville has instruments, lessons, sweet ladies who work there and awesome vintage clothes, shoes, and accessories (across the street is Pied Piper, get some ice cream there).

NL: In five words or less, can you give us a few adjectives that describe your personality?
TS: Curious. Excitable. History-obsessed. Hopelessly, blindly romantic.

NL: What do you consider to be the best places to take out of town visitors coming to Nashville for the first time?
TS: If you’re dealing with foodies, take them to City House in Germantown. If your guests like barbecue and a laid-back, front porch vibe, South Street is great. 12South is a really cool area; places like Burger Up and then Frothy Monkey is next door for coffee. At least drive down Broadway and show them the honkytonks. Go to Pancake Pantry for breakfast. I like to drive down Music Row and show out of town guests how quaint and laid back our music industry has stayed, with major record and publishing companies in cute little houses. Also, the Belle Meade Plantation is awesome and it’s one of the first places I went when I first came here. I’m obsessed with the history of this town. I seriously park my car and read those historical marker signs when I see them.

NL: If you had to leave home with only three items, what would they be?
TS: My contact lenses. My phone. A sharpie.

NL: Who are your ultimate idols living in Music City, and do you ever get time to see them?
TS: I think my favorite person in Nashville is Faith Hill. She’s been my idol since I saw her on both VH1 and CMT when I was about 10. I loved how she was taking country music to bigger audiences, and her grace in the spotlight. Since I put out my first album, Faith has been a welcoming and warm presence in my life, time after time. She sends flowers on my birthday and sent me cookies when I got sick.

Another one of my favorite people is Kenny Chesney. He’s so supportive, and always makes sure I know he’s in my corner. He sends little notes of encouragement, and I know I can ask him for advice any time. These are two people who had always been my heroes for their career accomplishments, and when I met them, they became my heroes for their characters.

"Skyfall" could see a 45% jump after Adele's win; Bassey's signature version of "Goldfinger" eyes a 275% gain

Music from Adele, Dame Shirley Bassey, Jennifer Hudson and more are all due to see huge sales increases on this week's Billboard charts thanks to Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony.

Sources suggest "Skyfall," which won Adele and Paul Epworth the Oscar for best original song, could see a 45% jump in digital download sales for the week ending Feb. 24. In the previous week, the single moved 36,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. (We won't have the latest week's official SoundScan sales figures until Wednesday, Feb. 27.)

"Skyfall" is the first Academy Award winner to have also been a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 since 2003, when Eminem's No. 1 single "Lose Yourself" won. "Skyfall" is also the first song from a James Bond film to take home the Oscar.

Speaking of James Bond, it was a big night on the Awards for the silver screen's most famous secret agent. The Oscars celebrated Bond's 50th anniversary in motion pictures with a montage of moments and a performance of "Goldfinger" by Dame Shirley Bassey.

The photo sharing site says the pop icon has broken its community guidelines, which ban 'mature content' and sharing third party photos.

The Queen of Pop recently joined the photo sharing site, owned by Facebook, and has received a warning from the company to adhere to its community guidelines -- or else.

The singer posted a message from Instagram in which the site asked her to review its community guidelines. The guidelines tell users to refrain from posting photos with “nudity or mature content” or sharing photos that come from third parties.

"We value these guidelines, and believe that they will help keep Instagram a safe & fun place for everyone," the message reads. "It is important to note that continuing to violate them may result in a disabled account, or discontinued access to Instagram, without warning."

The message didn’t specify which guideline Madonna apparently broke, though she has posted a shot of her cleavage as well as two photographs of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Both could potentially, in Instagram's view, be a violation of the guidelines.

Madonna currently has just over 152,000 followers on Instagram.

      Read the full message below.

      Hello Madonna,

Carrie Underwood admits to having no feud with Taylor Swift saying that media gets out of hand

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Is there a “Nashville” style rivalry between Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood?

It was reported late last week that Swift and Underwood “hate each other” and asked Grammy execs to ensure they wouldn’t cross paths at Sunday’s awards show. Speculation grew that such a feud existed when the ladies — who both won Grammys on Sunday — did not interact much at all. In fact, for all the awards shows both country stars attend there are very few photos of them together.

However, Underwood said in on “CBS This Morning" — airing Wednesday — that there is no rivalry (to her knowledge).

“No,” the “Blown Away” singer told Gayle King when asked if she was feuding with the 23-year-old singer. “Not that I know of at least!”

As for how rumors like that get started, Underwood, 29, blames the fact the media can use off-the-record “sources.”

"In every magazine, in pretty much every (sic) newspaper or on gossip TV shows, they can just get away with it by saying 'a source said' or ‘a friend said’ or 'an insider said,'” the “American Idol” alum spilled. “I've read the most ridiculous things about myself when people do that."

In order to perhaps squash the Swift rumors once and for all, Gayle King asked Underwood to name her favorite Swift song.

“My favorite Taylor Swift song, oh my gosh,” smiled Underwood. “I really like 'I Knew You Were Trouble.’ It sounded a lot different for her. I liked the branching out, trying some different sounds."

Lady Gaga Talks With PropaGaga: "ARTPOP is my first real album"

Last night, during the meet & greet at the Born This Way Ball in St.Paul Minnesota one of the admins of the famous Lady Gaga fan-page PropaGaga, met Gaga & had the chance to talk with her. During their meet, Gaga spilled some important info about ARTPOP. Read what she said below or clic here o read the full article on PropaGaga.com.

      • Gaga spoke about ARTPOP, saying that she was much happier while writing and recording it – a process that started directly after she finished with Born This Way
      • Gaga said that she knew Born This Way was a challenge to most of her fans, and that we endured a lot. She continued and said that she created the album, which ultimately became a movement, as a form of therapy, and she has no regrets about Born This Way, though feels she is now able to move on as a happier and more mature person.
      • When asked if she felt pressured about the new record, Gaga said she would be worried if there wasn’t any pressure, because it helps her work. She said she knows what we want, and that’s fun, dirty, dance music, and there’s no shortage of it on ARTPOP.
      • She explained that the album is pretty much done: there’s vocals and music on all the tracks, but she wants to take three weeks after the tour is over, during her break, to re-record her vocals with her coach Don Lawrence, so that the album is the best quality it can be, because its forever.
      • Gaga mentioned that she considers ARTPOP her first real album, that its about a phoenix rising from the ashes, and is worried if she’ll ever be able to top it because she knows it’s that good.

Lana Del Rey Teases New Music From ‘The Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack: 5 Things Her Photo Could Mean

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Lana Del Rey has just posted the logo for the upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby on her official Facebook, fueling rumors that the chanteuse is involved with the movie in some way. Gatsby, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald seminal 1925 novel (which — fun fact! — he wrote while listening to “This Is What Makes Us Girls” on repeat), is due out in May of this year, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan; it’s directed by Baz Luhrmann, who helmed Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet, which means that it’s pretty much guaranteed to be completely awesome. Although she hasn’t yet made a formal announcement about her role in the production, here are some things that this rather cryptic picture could mean:

      1. She’s composing some original music for the film’s soundtrack.

This feels like the likeliest scenario, especially given how director Baz Luhrmann‘s high-concept theatricality aligns nicely with Del Rey’s noirish aesthetic and how, like Del Rey’s music, The Great Gatsby trades in themes of the emptiness of wealth and glamour and the corrosion of the American Dream. (We think. We read it in high school.)

      2. The character of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby was based on Lana Del Rey, and she is just choosing now to reveal it.

Less sure about this one, but it still seems viable.

      3. Her Gatsby tastes like Pepsi cola.

      You’re welcome.

      4. Lana Del Rey is having an affair with the ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Doesn’t that seem like something she would totally do?

      5. No, she’s definitely composing some original music for the film’s soundtrack.

In this interview from November, Del Rey explains: “I’ve been helping composers write scores for movies. So, like, there’s a movie coming out in the summer that’s set in the 1920s and it’s been fun for me to write love songs for the woman who is the star.” So yes, she definitely wrote music for The Great Gatsby, and we are definitely ready for it.

Did Beyonce Flash Illuminati Signs At The Super Bowl?

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Beyonce’s Illuminati Super Bowl shoutout is the latest conspiracy theory to grip the web, as viewers clearly not familiar with New York rap culture assumed the star’s flash of a triangle formation with her fingers was a secret symbol to the shadowy alleged group — a secret signal Beyonce displayed during the most viewed television event all year, naturally.

While Beyonce’s Illuminati signs seem to some a clear indicator the shady global elite is hard at work and paradoxically using one of the world’s most high-profile performers at one of the world’s most high-profile events to conceal their existence and massive international operations, others pointed out a potential hole in the theory.

For fans of rap music, Beyonce’s illuminati Super Bowl display appears far more likely to be something else, something a bit more explainable in context. As we all know, Bey is married to Jay-Z, rapper, mogul and head of Roc-A-Fella records.

Of course, the classic conspiracy thread exists in any debunking of Beyonce’s Illuminati gestures at the Super Bowl. We could point to extensive internet evidence of all sorts of people throwing up the Roc in years past — from Kanyeezy to A-Rod to everyone at the airport to Bey last summer to Gwyneth Paltrow’s kids to President Obama. (But maybe they’re in on it.)

Whitney Houston: CBS to Air Grammy Special on Singer's Death

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

CBS says it will air a behind-the-scenes look at how Whitney Houston's death affected the 2012 Grammy Awards.

The hour-long special, titled "The Grammys Will Go On: A Death in the Family," is scheduled for Feb. 9, the eve of this year's music awards.

Last year, Grammy producers learned of Houston's death less than 24 hours before the ceremony. The CBS program recounts the scramble to pay tribute to the pop star and revamp the show.

The special includes interviews with LL Cool J, Jennifer Hudson, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and other artists.

The 48-year-old Houston was found drowned last February in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub. Coroner's officials ruled her death accidental, with heart disease and cocaine use contributing factors.

The Feb. 10 Grammys will air on CBS.

Beyoncé Talks Miscarriage: "The Saddest Thing I've Ever Been Through"

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

While Beyoncé is now the proud parent of adorable daughter Blue Ivy, motherhood wasn't the easiest road for Jay-Z's wife to travel.

And now, the Super Bowl singer is opening up about the miscarriage she suffered, which was revealed last year by her rapping hubby in the track "Glory."

But B herself has never addressed the experience—until now, that is.

"About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time," the 31-year-old said in Life Is But a Dream, her HBO documentary airing next month, an advance copy of which was viewed by various outlets.

"And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life."

While she does not detail when, exactly, she suffered her loss, she did say that she felt it hard.

"I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like...I was feeling very maternal," she said, adding that something went wrong early in the pregnancy, which she only found out during a routine doctor's appointment.

"I flew back to New York to get my checkup—and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat."

And she dealt with the loss the best way she knew how.

"I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I've ever written in my life. And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album," she said, albeit not naming the track or even if it made the final cut. "And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through."

Of course, her story has the happiest of endings, as she and Jay welcomed their daughter on Jan. 7, 2012.

Madonna's Super Bowl Halftime Show Named The Greatest

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Rolling Stone ran an online poll to find out what readers thought was the greatest Super Bowl halftime show - and Madonna's 2012 halftime show came first!

The Super Bowl halftime show is a very tough gig. About 160 million people are watching, and the performers have about 14 minutes. Some opt to play three or four of their best songs, while others do a big medley that packs in as many of their hits as possible. No matter what they do, a good chunk of the crowd will hate it, or at least switch over to the Puppy Bowl midway.

If done right, however, it's a great way to revive a career, or at least sell a ton of tickets to the artist's next tour. We asked our readers last week to select their favorite halftime shows of all time.

#1 Madonna had a very ambitious tour plan for 2012, and the single best way to promote it was a Super Bowl halftime show. She went all out for the performance, bringing in Cee Lo GreenLMFAONicki MinajM.I.A. and even acrobats. The set was wall-to-wall hits with her pretty flaccid new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' in the middle. M.I.A. tried to perk up the song by sticking her middle finger up on camera, which didn't exactly thrill Madonna or the NFL - though next to Nipplegate, it was a pretty tiny scandal. The next day, tickets went on sale for her world tour and sold out everywhere.

Cissy Houston recently revealed that she doesn't blame Whitney Houston's ex-husband, bad boy singer Bobby Brown, for getting her daughter hooked on drugs; it turns out Cissy's son Michael first introduced his younger sister Whitney to cocaine.

With Cissy by his side, Michael admitted to Oprah Winfrey that he still carries that guilt with him. "I'm living but I'm not alive," he tells Winfrey on "Oprah's Next Chapter, which aired two days before the release of Cissy's memoir, "Remembering Whitney," today.

"I feel responsible for her. I always have," he says. "I just felt like I should have taken better care of her."

Whitney Houston died in February 2012 at 48. She drowned in a bathtub in her hotel suite in Los Angeles the night before the Grammy Awards. The autopsy revealed that cocaine and heart disease contributed to her death.

After some of Winfrey's patented prodding, Michael confirms that he introduced her to cocaine in the 1980s, before she met Brown, but also claimed that back then, cocaine was acceptable in the entertainment industry. "It was available. It wasn't a bad word like it is now." "Because we didn't have the bodies in the street," Winfrey continued. "So that's the demon you live with?"

"Every day. Every day. It's something I got live with the rest of my life."

Tina Turner gives up US passport' and will soon become Swiss Citizen

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

US pop legend Tina Turner, who has been living in Switzerland since 1995, will soon receive Swiss citizenship and will give up her US passport, Swiss media reported Friday.

"I'm very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here. ... I cannot imagine a better place to live," Turner told German language daily Blick.

Turner, 73, who was born Anna Mae Bullock, lives in picturesque town of Kuesnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, and has passed a local civics test and interview, according to an official announcement published in the Zuerichsee-Zeitung daily.

The woman behind such hits as "Private Dancer", "Simply the Best" and "What's Love Got to Do With It?" will still need a green light from the canton of Zurich as well was federal authorities before she can receive red passport, the two papers reported.

Turner spokeswoman Karin Rhomberg told the Zuerichsee-Zeitung that the singer wanted to "clarify her situation".

"Tina Turner will therefore also give back her US citizenship," she said.

Turner, who has learned German, reportedly moved to Switzerland in 1995 when her longtime partner, German record executive Erwin Bach, was transferred here.

LeAnn Rimes Debuts Punk/Retro Hairstyle On ‘Kimmel’

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Tired of hearing LeAnn Rimes discuss her ongoing feud with husband Eddie Cibrian’s ex Brandi Glanville? Okay, we are, too—but that said, we still enjoyed seeing Rimes on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night.

No, Rimes did not refrain from discussing Glanville—she did plenty of that. However, she did provide visual interest with a new hairstyle, one that we’ve never seen the singer sport before.

Best described as a pompadour (of sorts), the slightly punkish/retro ‘do called to mind a look that Gwen Stefani, Pink, and most recently Miley Cyrus has rocked on the red carpet—definitely a departure for the country star, who usually wears her blond locks in a beachy, natural flow and rarely experiments with radical hairstyles.

Don’t worry, though. It was clear that—unlike Cyrus—Rimes didn’t crop her hair to achieve the new style. The back of her hair was visibly rolled up and pinned.

Rimes was appearing on Kimmel to promote her upcoming release, Spitfire, which will hit stores April 9. The singer has been performing songs from the album live, as well as talking about her writing process and thoughts behind them.

In addition to discussing Glanville and her new music, she defended fellow vocalist Beyonce, who was accused this week of lip-syncing at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. “I’m actually taking up for her on this one, “ Rimes said, noting that sometimes singers are asked to do so for various reasons.

Anderson Cooper Defends Beyoncé’s Lip-Sync fiasco

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

For “The Ridiculist” segment of his show tonight, Anderson Cooper turned to the post-inauguration scandal that rocked the country today. Beyoncé lip-synched the national anthem!

“I respond with a big star-spangled so what?” Cooper said. “As far as I’m concerned, it is Beyoncé’s world and we are just living in it.”

Clarifying that it was her pre-recorded voice, she just wasn’t actually singing live, Cooper continued, “I’m releasing a statement right now saying I just don’t care. We got to look at Beyoncé’s beautiful face and hear Beyoncé’s beautiful voice singing the national anthem. There is only one thing we should say today and that is thank you, Beyoncé. Francis Scott Key himself would send her a fruit basket.”

After playing clips of some of the more infamous lip-synching scandals in music history from Milli Vanilli and Ashlee Simpson, Cooper had one final message for anyone questioning Beyoncé’s decision. “Talk to me after you’ve gotten on the stage in front of the president of the United States and hundreds of thousands to sing the national anthem in 40-degree weather.”

Carly Rae Jepsen does Candie’s new campaign

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

This is crazy: Not only is Carly Rae Jepsen the star of Candie’s latest ad, but she’s also the photographer behind it — marking the first time a celebrity spokesperson has shot their own fashion campaign.

Jepsen snapped herself in a photo booth while wearing pieces from Candie’s spring 2013 collection. In the ad’s main image, the star dons a cute ballet pink blazer paired with cuffed denim, a printed top and nude ankle-strap heels.

The “Call Me Maybe” singer isn’t the only pop star to represent the brand; previous Candie’s girls include Britney Spears, Fergie and Glee‘s Lea Michele.

“I feel very honored to be the next Candie’s girl. It’s a dream come true to be in the company of such amazing women!” Jepsen says in a statement.

The star’s campaign will debut in March magazines, and Candie’s is sold exclusively at Kohl’s department stores nationwide and kohls.com/candies. Tell us: Is Jepsen the right choice for Candie’s?

Carly Rae Jepsen is the new face of Candie's! She and her amazing bangs will star in the brand's spring 2013 campaign (which the singer actually shot herself!). Candie's gave Carly Rae tons of cute clothes and fun props to play with (including an adorable French bulldog), then put her in front of a photo booth and let her go wild.

After the shoot, CRJ answered a few of our burning style questions. Here, she dishes on her favorite spring trends and secrets for staying comfortable on stage!

17: What are your favorite fashion trends for Spring?

CRJ: I love florals. Prints on prints on prints! Candie's has these pastel blouses that I'm obsessed with.

17: What's the perfect shoe to take you from stage to street?

CRJ: A wedge heel does it all for me. Height, comfort and style. They give me ability to move on stage without bailing and meet for a dinner date straight after!

17: You wore long-johns under your dress to stay warm at New Year's Rockin' Eve. What other fashion secrets to you swear by?

CRJ: Those long johns were a life saver—I was freezing! I generally love to wear layers so I can be ready for any situation. On stage I usually start with a leather jacket or blazer to take off once things get warmed up! I have a white one from Candie's that I am particularly fond of because it goes with everything! I pair it with a statement jewelry piece.

Kelly Clarkson Did NOT Lip Synch at Inauguration: Rep

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

Kelly Clarkson did not lip-synch during her Inaugural Ceremony performance of “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” on Monday.

In the wake of the revelation that Beyonce decided at the last minute to sing the national anthem to a pre-recorded track, questions were raised about whether Clarkson’s own patriotic performance was lip-synched.

But a rep for the onetime “American Idol” winner says Clarkson sang live.

A spokesperson for the United States Marine Band also said on Tuesday that the band played their instruments live, contrary to some media reports.

Recording the ceremony’s music ahead of time is standard procedure, given the wide range of circumstances that could pose problems for performances during the program.

Rihanna Joins The Ranks Of Big Celebrity Tippers At The Laugh Factory

      NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

      via glooce

This has got to be one of the best PR moves a celebrity can ever make: After getting an $80 bill at the Laugh Factory in L.A. on Friday, Rihanna reportedly asked her waiter what his biggest tip ever was, according to TMZ. He said, $100, so Rihanna gave him $200 and said, “Now I’m your biggest tip.” Sure, she had to guess the story would make the rounds later, so it could have been a very calculated good PR move, but this is Rihanna — she doesn’t care what we think, remember?

This act of generosity places Riri among an elite group of stars with good reps among waitstaff and bartenders. There are a bunch of sites out there with rankings of the best celebrity tippers (all based on secondhand reports from the waiters, of course). Johnny Depp, David Beckham, Charlie Sheen, Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Drew Barrymore, President Obama, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Drew Carey and Hulk Hogan have all made such lists for their generous gratuities. More than dollar amounts, we’ve always enjoyed the sites, like this old-school one, that gather tales of the stars’ behavior to their servers. The celebs with the worst tipping reputations, because we know you’re even more curious about those, include Tiger Woods, Jeremy Piven, Madonna, Britney Spears, LeBron James and Mick Jagger.

What does this say about their personality? You could say the good tippers remember their humble roots, value good service, or, again, know these stories can come back to benefit or haunt them. On the other hand, maybe the bad tippers are forgetful, or they’re just used to someone else taking care of the bill-paying for them.

What do you think, waiters of the world? Give us your analysis and stories in the comments!
